Interacting with two sonar sensors triggers audio and projections of synesthetic sound-to-visual experiences as unexpectedly as they occur to me in daily life. Move different distances from one sensor, and see a different audiovisual pair every couple feet. Then, get a friend and try to match the projections with the other sensor! This piece is an extension of my Synesthetic Library. The original version (shown below) was triggered by the viewer's movement on under-lit wooden panels (functional but less fun). Arduino microprocessors and the Java-based Arduino and Processing code programs were used.
I've been delighted to share this piece at artist workshops and in a few different installation settings, including at Art Laboratory Berlin in 2013.
